GdS: Uncertainty surrounds Maignan’s return but Origi should be back soon

By Oliver Fisher -

The AC Milan squad are back in training after the short break for Christmas and an update has arrived on the condition of Mike Maignan and Divock Origi.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), the most complicated situation concerns the French goalkeeper, with no certainties about when he will actually be back in action at present.

He has been out injured for three months now, but the former Lille man is struggling to get over his latest calf injury and so there will be further caution needed. The hope is that he will return on January 18 in the Supercoppa Italiana against Inter, but it could end up being the second half of January before he is back.

Origi’s muscle problem is less serious and therefore he should be back sooner. The Belgian will in all probability miss the away match in Salerno on January 4, but it is not excluded that he could return for the Roma game a few days later.
