Verona manager on conceding a penalty vs. Milan: “They are good in one-on-ones”

By Isak Möller -

Milan have been awarded many penalties this season, 16 in the league to be exact, and there has been a lot of talk about this matter. However, as we all know, they have been justified and Verona manager Ivan Juric agrees.

The Rossoneri will take on Verona away from home tomorrow and it won’t be an easy game, especially considering that Juventus only got one point at the venue last weekend. Therefore, they will have to be at their best to win.

In his pre-match conference, as cited by MilanNews, Juric was asked about the number of penalties that Milan have received and if he’s worried that they will concede one. He provided a very good answer, which for once wasn’t based on speculation.

“I think our referees are the best. There are still mistakes, but a lot less. Lately, I haven’t thought about the referees. If they give the Rossoneri penalties, it means that they often enter the box and that they are good in one-on-ones. It’s a nice team to watch, I like to see how Milan play,” he stated.

In addition to Ismael Bennacer, Hakan Calhanoglu, Mario Mandzukic and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ante Rebic will also miss out tomorrow as he picked up an injury earlier today. First reports suggest that it’s muscle overload.
