VG: Milan schedule key meeting with Hauge’s entourage – loan move possible

By Isak Möller -

Jens Petter Hauge’s first season at Milan has had ups and downs as he has struggled to earn a spot in the starting eleven, after what was a promising start to the season. As a result of this, his future is a hot topic.

The left-winger did well in the Europa League last year and also bagged a goal against Napoli for the Rossoneri. However, it’s been tougher for him this year, also because Milan decided to exclude him from the Europa League squad.

According to Norwegian outlet VG, a meeting will take place between the parties at the end of the season to discuss the situation. There are two options on the table for Hauge: stay at Milan or move on loan for playing time.

Several clubs would be interested in signing the 21-year-old on loan, which was also the case in January, but the Rossoneri then decided to keep him amid all the injuries. In the summer, however, the stance could be different.

In an interview with the outlet, Milan star Hakan Calhanoglu urged Hauge to remain as ‘his time will come’. It remains to be seen if the youngster will try his luck elsewhere and come back stronger for the 2022/23 season.
