Vieri claims Fiorentina forward was full of praise for ‘strong, strong, strong’ Jovic

By Oliver Fisher -

Former AC Milan forward Christian Vieri believes that the club could have made a very smart signing by getting Luka Jovic, who is ‘strong, strong, strong’ according to his old team-mate.

Milan closed the transfer market with 10 signings but it was their pursuit of a new centre-forward that caused the most drama given it went into deadline day and saw a number of different players linked.

The Rossoneri managed to get a deal for Jovic over the line with less than two hours remaining in the window. It has since been confirmed that it is a free transfer from Fiorentina and therefore it a permanent deal rather than a loan, with a one-year deal signed plus an option for a further three.

Christian Vieri spoke during his show BoboTV and he gave his thoughts on Milan’s acquisition of Jovic, something he believes could turn out to be a very positive move.

“Everyone in Florence is sad about Jovic’s farewell. I was having dinner in the same restaurant as the Viola striker Sottil and he told me that he is strong, strong, strong,” he said (via PianetaMilan).

“He wasn’t able to demonstrate his value in Florence, but he is an incredible player.”

  1. For me everything starts with the character of the person. Real wrote off 65M, why. Fiorentina gave him away for free why?

I hooe i am wrong and this articke proves to be right. Either way, under circumstances its not bad.

1 + 3 years allows us to seal him for longer if he smartens up and surprises us all

    1. Guess the environment isn’t stimulating enough, worryingly enough. Barnabeu – too much pressure. Franchi – not enough pressure…. who knows? But he better get it together, otherwise is a one way flight to Turkey.

    2. He was at enormous 10 mil annual salary at Madrid. After that unsuccessful loan back to Frankfurt, Madrid just simply gave up on him and better off get rid of that high salary.

Fiorentina let him for free because simply they got him for free as well. No loss in their book. Aside of to write off his 2.5 mil salary, the other reason should be more towards his overall attitude. He didn’t have a good rapport with the fans as well by saying Fiorentina was just a stepping stone.

  2. Florentina got him for free. Although you are right it depends his character and personality with ability to start again in rebuilding or blooming his career

  3. Ancelotti said tehnically he is a great player but he lacks character.

It’s a no risk, smart deal. If he bangs they can extend and sell for profit as well.
