As Mexico played their opening game of the Concacaf Gold Cup last night, AC Milan striker Santiago Gimenez bagged a nice assist in the 3-2 win.
After scoring in the friendly against Switzerland last week, Gimenez is clearly making the most of a boosted confidence as he bagged another goal contribution last night. In Mexico’s opening game of the Gold Cup, the Milan striker assisted Raul Jimenez’s goal.
The striker did well to pick up a good position before sending it through to his attacking partner with the first touch. He actually nutmegged the defender, who no doubt could have done better, but the Milan man definitely deserves praise for the pass.

Mexico ended up winning the game 3-2, as the Dominican Republic found the back of the net twice in the second half. For Gimenez, it was a near-perfect start to the tournament (a goal perhaps would have been better) and hopefully he can continue like this.
