GdS: What Cardinale said to Pioli in the dressing room before the win over Spurs

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan owner Gerry Cardinale spoke with Stefano Pioli and the team before last night’s 1-0 win over Spurs in the Champions League, a report claims.

There is no doubting that Pioli has come under fire from the media and sections of the fan base given the terrible start to 2023 which saw the team win just one of their opening eight games across all competitions.

However, the response has been good with Milan recording back to back home wins against Torino and Spurs, with both bringing much-needed clean sheets too after the switch to a three-man defence.

According to what was stated by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it), shortly before the match against Tottenham last night Pioli received a visit from owner Cardinale who – also speaking to the rest of the squad – stated as follows: “Dear Stefano, you have the support of the ownership.”

It was a confirmation of confidence that the coach seems to have particularly appreciated, as well as the players who then demonstrated on the pitch that they have reached some kind of serenity after the difficult month of January.

  1. Hahahaha oh wow what a statement, its just so inspiring! “You have the support of the management” hahaha. This guy is a classic billionaire turd. Can’t stand this ownership

    1. Technically I think he’s a millionaire but with control of billions in assets and cash (other investors) via redbird capital. Cardinale won’t be giving money to Milan directly but rather from Redbird funds.
