Maignan ‘does not want to waste any more time’ in his career, with him only getting closer to 30, and with Milan out of Europe next season, it only adds to this feeling. A meeting is planned with Massimiliano Allegri, who wants to keep him when he returns from international duty.
However, the feeling is that it will not be enough, with the goalkeeper’s orientation being towards an exit.

All else aside, the Club had valid reasons for pausing negotiations. Until the last 7 games of the season, we didn’t even know if he was going to regain some form back.
So clubs should punish their players for a bad match or maybe period of bad form. Ok. Wonder what Inter will do with their players after failing to win anything when they were big contenders on all fronts. Terminate their contracts and send them to Ukraine?

oh you’re right, it has nothing to do with a keeper reaching 30 and not wanting to be part of a team that isn’t going to compete for anything for the next 3-5 years, definitely not that. Def not looking at “the project” and saying no thanks. He had offers in the past with high salaries and said no. Milan def would have sold him if he was willing to go and a team was offering the amounts we were hearing over the last few years. We know they’ll sell if the price is right. So really looks to be more that Mike doesn’t believe in the project and he doesn’t have time to wait and see. Real end of story…
If a player does not want to stay, please go then. Milan is bigger than any player, coach or president. I side with the management regarding his contract renewal to be put on hold, because let’s be honest, he is not the same Mike for 2 seasons now.
We had a couple of decent seasons with Maldini and his staff. Weird that we became garbage again after their dismissal.

Napoli hired a Scudetto guarantee (or very close to). We hired a coach who cannot win things without a talisman or very high level players throughout the team, not to mention doesn’t give youth chances. We hired a director because he was cheap, available and can work with sh!tty owners but with no real tangible or meaningful successes. Two completely different approaches.
Allegri is much better than Conte at developing young players, much better at working with sub standard players and much better in Europe. Conte is a fraud. You’ll see how good he is when he has 2 games a week.

He was great the first year but after that? Easily replaceable. Already 4-5 good options mentioned in the rumors and any one of them will do fine. Nothing to worry. Except the low transfer fee we’ll get if Milan decides to sell to Chelsea.
I’m curious to see what this ‘mis-management’ will do when they run out of valuable players to sell. What then will they do? They have already mismanaged the Youth system, run to ground the senior and women’s teams. They can’t find investors who trust their project. They can’t please their fans. So what next?
