The news related to AC Milan at the moment is about money pouring into the accounts from sales, but now there is a duty to invest.
MilanNews recall that the permanent sale of Pierre Kalulu to Juventus was made official on Thursday, as they paid Milan the buy-out fee agreed last summer. In the next few days, the sale of Tijjani Reijnders to Manchester City will also become official, with a medical set for Sunday.
In addition to these two, there are many other players who are in the running for an exit or who will be put on the market. In light of all this and the proceeds that will be there, the watchword must be one: invest.
Income must equal expenditure
Juventus have released the figures for the Kalulu deal. Milan will see €14m enter their coffers, in three different tranches. The substantial part, however, will come from the sale of Reijnders for €55m plus bonuses, of which €10m are easily achievable.
Theo Hernandez may follow both out of the door. Al-Hilal have offered €35m but the player must be convinced: he would prefer Atletico Madrid who, however, are offering less. Then there is Maignan, who is believed to want to leave and is valued at around €30m.

Once the carousel of sales is over, the mission has to be to invest the proceeds, even without the Champions League. Much will fall on the shoulders of Igli Tare, the new sporting director, but also of Massimiliano Allegri.
The coach is not the type to get in the way of the mercato but he likes to collaborate, as demonstrated by his presence at Casa Milan in recent days. At the same time, however, the pressure will also be a lot on CEO Giorgio Furlani, the club’s administrator.
In the press release to announce Tare, it was stated that the director will report to the CEO. Let’s hope that this does not slow down the work of the Albanian who, instead, can move freely to strengthen a team that absolutely must return to the Champions League next season with serious moves.
“Every decision at Milan goes through me”, said Furlani. Oh this line is hitting real hard right now.
Anyone got some weed? I’ll need it for this mercato
Problem are players who are going to stay, on huge costs and zero value in game play…
Milan for now stayed with, Origi, Morata, Chukwueze, Okafor, Loftus Cheek, Bennacer, Terracciano, Tomori, Emerson Royal. Some don’t play, but many are not worth even 9th position in serie a.
I would rather sell those names, and even kept loaned one, as back ups. Saelemaekers, Pobega, Adli, Colombo.
Since this comment is not weed related, i believe you wanted to reply to Boom Boom. But i agree with everything you said
Bennacer and Tomori are good players.
They just need to be fit.
Everyone there is useless expect Chuk who is actually decent player and a decent back up.
Even though Reijnders is 27 and only has one year of worldclass performances we still gave him away for cheap.
We negotiated with one of the richest clubs in the world. They can attempt to gamble for 80 million on a player. It doesn’t matter to them.
If the clown management can’t negotiate better then we are doomed.
Selling Theo, Leao and Reijnders, even though two of them had an awful season, means we have to replace them for a lot of money.
Also the three of them have 32 goals and 24 assist for us this season even though two of them were “bad”.
Worst case scenario we sell all three of them and we only have Pulisic left who has been reliable in goals and assists. This means we need to replace these three with the same or better stats.
The management could’ve had Theo and Maignan extensions done in September.
The transfer window isn’t (properly) open yet and I’ve got transfer window fatigue 😂.
Man I wish I could ween myself off checking this site 10 times a day 🤦🏻♂️.
You can still sell and chip out more of kalulu in the team then selling Tiji.. Tiji as starter with Modric as a sub plus real ball ball recovery DM.
Selling Tiji and bring in Paul Pogba to compliment Modric
Are you well? 40 year old Madric and Pogba, who is about as likely to pass a drugs test as he is to stay fit.
We’ve had 40 year old players before, it’s also very hard to be close to that age and still be playing at a high level. It’s a small gamble but can be worth it, he could be used as a sub or finish out games. Can also be used to teach the primavera/futuro midfielders, a team will always need experienced players.
I don’t think you know what a carousel is. Kalulu was loaned with an option to buy last season, we know he was going to leave. Reijnders is the only player that has or is about to leave. The rest is speculation.
Yes, but why a low buy option. Just more than double it and then if he doesn’t perform they can negotiate.
As it is now he was good for them and is now a bargain even though he has been injury prone.
Hello all, wondering if the $$$ from the CDK sale is included in our summer budget??? or did it go straight into the coffers to offset the red we experienced this year in revenue?
I think the deal was they’ll get that in January. If so, it went into Gimenez transfer already.
Tare was most likely brought in the buy cheap, high return players like he did in his early days. And it could be enough for CL top 4 places, which is likely the goal, assuming Allegri still has 3-4 top players in offense (Leao, Pulisic, Gimenez, and someone new).
Allegri can give us an aggressive defensive style, which relies on fast transitions and personal talent for attack. Not pretty on the eye, but when done correctly, irritating to play against for any team. Midfield will be key for this, and Modric could be quite useful for holdup play. Also coordination between the backline must be improved.
All we could do is hope (sigh)
Very well said.
That is a sustainable sporting model that can survive in Italy.
This has been our model, we are simply just rinsing and starting again.
I agree as well, really hope we get an older cb(32-36) to help out with the comunication and coordination problems. Someone that has 1 or 2 good seasons left in them(like kjaer)to be able to help out as well.
That’s why the biggest focus must be on midfield and improvements there. We suffered in the middle the most for the past two seasons. We at least got a coach who is very very meticulous when it comes to team structure. Let’s hope management will follow his ideas.
Fine with our management buying players for cheap and then later out turning to be good but do not sell them after there breakout season. Every window we feel we go backwards. I also think we should not touch our attack and only focus on the midfield and defence.
This Mercato is like the recent Mike Tyson fight. I know it’s going to be a disaster and not at all what the “promoters” are claiming it will be but I’m still going to watch just for the 1% chance that it delivers.
75 million reinjder out. Free modric in. Look like allegri milan get his sought out player. With modric, allegri can play his slow pace football.
Imagine destroying a club in under 3 years because that’s what this ownership has done. I would retire just form the shame and embarrassment.
