Warren Bondo will soon join AC Milan on a permanent deal but Kevin Zeroli will be going the other way as part of it, though only on loan.
Not long ago, it was confirmed that Bondo will be joining Milan from Monza on a long-term deal, with a deadline day swoop having been successful following over four years of tracking the player.
With Ismael Bennacer having pushed for a move to Marseille, the Rossoneri were forced to dip back into the window for another midfielder, and they have chosen the 23-year-old Frenchman.
Fabrizio Romano confirms the teams have agreed on a permanent transfer worth €10m this evening, and he will replace Bennacer, whose move to Marseille has also been given the same certification.
However, there will be more than just cash involved. According to MilanNews, Milan have also agreed to send Kevin Zeroli to Monza as part of the deal. It will only be a dry loan spell though, meaning no option or obligation to buy.
The Milan Futuro captain has shuttled between the B-team and the senior squad this season but without getting too many first-team minutes, something the Brianza club might well be willing to offer him more of.
so we lose Zeroli and Bennacer for Bondo? lmao…
Lose Zeroli and Bennacer?
You “LOSE” 2 players that contributed absolutely NOTHING for Bondo.
Forza Milan
Zeroli doesn’t play much at all, and is going on a dry loan. Bennacer requested to leave… lmao
No. We did not sell Bennacer to get Bondo. Bennacer wanted to leave and we had to find a last minute replacement and the best we could find with the budget and little time we had was Bondo. We did not truly lose Bennacer because we didn’t mean to sell. Marseille came up out of the blue-ish and the player wanted out. These things are quite common in modern football. We’re not losing Zeroli as either, since, as the article clearly explains, Zeroli will be loaned without option or obligation to buy which makes the term “lose” not applicable to the situation. Hope this helps.
yup. I got two questions:
1. how good is Bondo? Compared to current Bennie.
2. We complain when we get players on dry loans because “we are training someone else’s player”. We complain we send a young kid who wasnt playing for us on a dry loan. I dont get it. When are we happy about dry loans? unhappy when we get the player and unhappy when we give the player
1. From the limited I’ve seen, he is not shy of making a tackle/interception. I don’t see flashes of creativity but 2bh we need an enforcer. He could be our Kessie replacement ie physical in the centre of the pitch. And even if he’s “only average” he’s young enough we can probably sell him for a profit in a few years, and he’ll finally allow Fofana the occasional rest.
2. Agreed, this dry loan gives Zeroli some professional experience without the pressure of San Siro. Good move for us.
As a human you must always have a bias to see how things favour you, moreso in business.
We cannot complain when we sign players on dry loan and still complain when others sign our players on dry loan.
It’s the game, it’s business, we complain when when our management gets on the loosing side of a deal and commend when we get on the receiving side of a deal.
It’s only normal isn’t it?
This is business.
If it’s a win-win, all square.
If it’s a win-loose, as a business man, always ensure in your negotiations, you do everything possible not to be on the loosing side.
This is a good move for Milan. Benncer has been injured for most of the season, Zeroli needs playing time. If Bondi succeeded, this one gonna be a brilliant move.
And also… Had we kept Benny against his will, how much would have he helped the team? Exactly. It was good business by Milan.
This is not good deal for sure

He is going to get playing time is serie a to make him grow
Lol its a dry loan for Zeroli not obligation!
Good deal for sure. Bondo looks very promising.
Losing benny for only 15 million is a bit sad but Zeroli wasnt playing much and need game time, 6 months in Monza will give him a chance to play serie a football and maybe in the summer he will return and have a bigger role here depending on how he develops in Monza.
I’ll say the say as I said for Camarda – Monza is fighting for survival. They’re dead last. Are they going to bet their future on young players like Zeroli.
Now granted – I think Zeroli will get more chances than Camarda would have gotten.
We’re all hopeful but in reality we’ve never seen him play. So here’s his chance to show what he’s made of and if he’s ready. Dry loan to Serie A team is a good deal imo.
It’s a dy loan and he can finally get minutes. What’s the big deal?
But I’m confused of what’s going on.
Is cristante coming?
Is sottil coming?
Is Joao Felix coming?
Anyone leaving? What’s happening. I can’t believe how active we are on the last day and I’m not liking it. Too many changes
Cristante is not likely at all. That link died early on in the day. Joao Felix is likely.
Numerous players are leaving. Bennacer requested the move. Okafor and Chukwueze are also linked with exits. The latter two barely contribute.
Bondo, gimenez and Felix are done deals.
Okafor, Morata, Zeroli and Bennacer have left
If we sell chuck we will try Sottil
Warren Bondo is 21 not 23
Makes sense, would have liked to see him get more minutes but he’s struggling to get chances here, this could be ideal if he gets game time there
Bondo is dreadful, look at his stats. He is the anti moneyball, bad in every metric. This is Moncada’s doing and also on Conceicao for being a coward and not giving Zeroli a chance.
I didn’t watch him so I can’t comment but his stats certainly don’t paint a nice figure.
Furthemore since we essentially swapped 2 midfielders (Zeroli and Bennacer regardless of the terms of the contracts) for one, that means that our midfield remains pretty shallow with Reijnders, Fofana, Musah, Bondo and an always injured and useless Loftus-Cheek.
Tactically wise, since we got Giménez, Félix and we might get Sottil, maybe Conceição will push for a 4-4-2 for the reminder of the season.
Also the question is, how many new players are we allowed to register in the UCL list ?
On paper we lost 2 midfielders but in reality, Zeroli never played and never was an option to either of the coaches so it was “one out, one in” really.
That’s dramatic, go to fbref and compare his stats to Ricci you’ll be surprised
Bondo:
aerial duels won – 6
clearances – 7
ground duels won – 97/180 (54%)
interceptions – 6
tackles – 36
Ricci:
aerial duels won – 9
clearances – 24
ground duels won – 86/145 (59%)
interceptions – 16
tackles – 26
Bondo is better on the ball than Ricci and makes more tackles.
Bondo’s average rating this season is 6.8. 282/401 in Serie A among midfielders.
Ricci’s average rating this season is 6.95. 199/401 in Serie A among midfielders.
Frendrup’s stats are:
aerial duels won – 17
clearances – 27
ground duels won – 111/202 (55%)
interceptions – 29
tackles – 72
Frendrup smokes them both. He would be a perfect moneyball signing, but we don’t have moneyball, we have Moncada.
If Zeroli gets playing time, it’s a good deal. However, again, I would like to highlight how poor the planning has been. The captain of the new Futuro team, which is supposed to give our youth players senior experience, is being sent out on loan, after being bounced between our two teams with 15 appearances in Serie C (out of 25 matches) and 1 appearance in Serie A.
When it comes to young players, the person most to blame is the coach. All management can do is put a structure in place that allows the players to develop. That is the case, we have one of the best Primavera’s in Europe. However, coaches don’t give the boys time and would prefer starting some rando we’ve never heard of over them. It’s a Serie A disease. Clubs in England and Spain are much more likely to give young players a chance.
Someone calling Bondo awful has no clue what you’re talking about. He’s immense.
He’s 1,77m and 63kg, not really immense if you ask me.
Wasn’t talking about height or weight. Go pick up a dictionary, Mr Literal. lol He’s a far more physical player than Bennacer
Didn’t he score on us?
What I observed on this space is so many fans are emotional when their fav player is been sold and a player that isn’t in their thoughts brought, they complain about reinjdner, Paulisic, tomori, Mike, Ibrahomovic and even Giroud, one thing they don’t understand is this is business versus game, as business you get a deal that favour your account and in game you hope the player improves and becomes better, it’s not always a win in this, moreover it happens to many cubs also, many may not like the management and the owner also what happened during the summer transfer window but to compare what is happening in this January window is a great news wel all aren’t expanding, surprisingly the management are acting as they suppose to. Honestly most guys on this space can’t keep a wife at home because they nag more than the woman.
Most Milan supporter’s are pressure cookers.we mount needless criticism on whosoever comes in. No wonder San siro has become a toxic environment.I am here to remind all that there is power in the tongue and in our words -power of life and death -and he who love it will eat the fruit of it (Pr.18:21) In short the tongue and our words can put the club over or put it under.Certainly we all wish to see our club at the top.If then we should all learn to foster an environment of peace, encouragement and love in the face of daunting challenges on the field and outside of it. This is not to say we dare not speak our minds when things are going south. But to do so with civility and decorum with the objective to heal,to mend and not to make things worse for the players, management supporter’s and the club as a whole. The truth is it takes money, heavy investment to procure even average players these days thus making the classy players the exclusive properties of the rich clubs. As supporters our foremost duty is to back the club with goodwill prayers for financial “manna”to fall on the club not forgetting to contributing our widow’s mite
