“Zlatan vs CR7 – Egolandia”: Italian papers react to Ibrahimovic to AC Milan

Yesterday’s announcement of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to AC Milan has attracted a lot of attention in Italy but also worldwide. The Swedish attacker returns to the San Siro after 7 years and is looking to help the club to change the course of the season.

In the meantime, the main Italian newspapers focused greatly on Ibrahimovic’s return on their front pages of today’s editions.

“Egolandia”, Corriere dello Sport titled, highlighting the challenge between Ibrahimovic and Cristiano Ronaldo. The paper added: “Milan announces Ibra. Serie A becomes the challenge of the two phenomena. Cristiano, who considers himself the number one in history and Zlatan, who loves to compare himself to a god. Where the first reigned unchallenged, another champion arrives who does not admit a superman outside himself.”

Meanwhile, Gazzetta dello Sport showed off with a headline: “The Devil of an Ibra”, adding: “Milan formalizes the transfer. Zlatan in Milan already on January 1st?”

Finally, Turin-based Tuttosport have launched the challenge for the best deal of the January transfer market, comparing Ibrahimovic’s arrival to potential deals bringing Erling Haaland to Juventus and Arturo Vidal to Inter.
