Keisuke Honda is behind Milan manager Sinisa Mihajlovic and their hopes of third place this season.
Milan beat Torino 1-0 with a Luca Antonelli goal on the stroke of halftime. However, a Honda free kick rattled the crossbar inside the first thirty minutes.
“We played well. We’ve lost just one match in 2016 and have a lot of confidence,” the Japanenese star spoke with Mediaset Premium, following the victory over Torino.
“There’s a fantastic atmosphere here, and now there are many important games coming up and we have to continue like this, staying concentrated.”
“Getting third place will no doubly be difficult, but we have to believe. We have got the chance of achieving it. Fiorentina are playing well, along with Inter and Roma, so we must keep winning and see what happens.”
Honda has been critized of his position and the style of football, since joining Milan from CSKA Moskow. But, when he was asked if Mihajlovic should remain next season.
“Yes, of course. We are winning many games and have to go forward. When we play bad, Mihajlovic helps us and I hope the fans are also behind him.”
“Nothing has changed, not at all. I am still playing the same way I did before. I always put the in the effort during training and on the field.”
