AC Milan Women closing in on impressive Boquete coup after further hints about move

By Steph Insixiengmay -

Verónica Boquete appears to be edging closer and closer to joining the AC Milan Women. During an interview with La Prórroga, a women’s football podcast run by the site FutFem, Boquete gave a huge hint on where she’ll play next.

The Spaniard refuted the notion that she would be playing in her native Spain again. Instead, she stated that she would be “playing in a European league I’ve never played in before.”

That league is most likely Serie A Femminile. The fact that Verónica has never played in Italy lends credence to this. This is yet another sign that she’ll soon be joining the Rossonere.

The Spaniard has notched up accolades in Spain, Sweden, and Germany and has made an indelible impact while playing for teams in the US, France and China. And yet, she has not done any of this in Italy. When she moves to Milan, she can finally make her mark in the peninsula.

As was noted before, Verónica has stated that she would like to play for a team that can compete for titles and has an ambitious project. Milan ticks off all those boxes. Add to this the fact that Serie A Femminile has been growing in stature and seems to have the support that many other women’s leagues lack, and one can see why she chose to play for the Rossonere.

The midfielder is still under quarantine and once her quarantine ends, her move to the team will be made official.

An official announcement of her signing is imminent and soon, this dream will become a reality.
