A number of sources reported after the win against Fiorentina that Mike Maignan battled an illness to keep a clean sheet, and Yacine Adli has seemingly confirmed it.
It was claimed by a few papers that Maignan did not just stop Fiorentina from scoring but he also beat the flu in the process. The Frenchman had a fever of 39 degrees and despite this he was decisive and the best on the pitch.
The stop he made on Mandragora in the closing seconds was a candidate for save of the season and it essentially preserved the win for Milan. Adli’s message to Maignan on Instagram seems to confirm the rumours: “40-degree fever without eating anything.”

Great guy, loves Milan, too bad Pioli is letting his love life decide his choices.
