Atletico Madrid seeking revenge after Morata’s move to Milan – the names

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan and Atletico Madrid are not the best of friends after the Rossoneri convinced Alvaro Morata to leave Spain, triggering the €13m release clause in his contract. By the looks of it, the Spaniards are out for revenge.

Morata appeared destined to remain at Atletico Madrid despite the low release clause, having confirmed his love for the club. However, then Zlatan Ibrahimovic came along and managed to change his mind, fast forward to Milan announcing the signing on Friday.

As stated by BILD this morning, cited by PianetaMilan, Diego Simeone is a huge admirer of Niclas Fullkrug and could prompt Atleti to pay a whopping €30m for his services. This would certainly be a big blow for Milan, who already have an agreement with the player.

It doesn’t end there, however, as it was also reported earlier today that the Spanish side have enquired about Milan’s No.1 defensive target Strahinja Pavlovic. In short, Milan and Atletico Madrid could be in for a proper mercato battle this summer.

In the past, Atletico had also expressed an interest in Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana, but he has agreed to join Milan and the agreement is only a matter of time.

    1. Haha just the narrative of SM here, neither Bild nor PianetaMilan speaks about “revenge”. Let’s see plan B, probably Broja on loan.

  1. useless post and worse journalism.

ATM said no one will stop morata if he wants to move even before he confirm to join milan.

Milan will not fight with any clubs in mercato as they want to buy in reduced price

  2. What absolute nonsense. No one is going to bid double nor are AM out for ‘revenge’. Who writes this garbage?

  3. Atletico isn’t going to get revenge. They were informed prior to us employing the exit clause. They aren’t upset because someone triggered the exit clause they agreed with the player.

As far as Fulkrug, it’s up to the player, but no one is paying 30 million for him.

Nonsense journalism trying to stir up trouble.

  4. LOL. Thanks for the laughs. So… Dortmund is asking Milan 15-20M€ for Füllkrug but Atletico is p*ssed and insists on paying 30M€ for him? Sure, sure… 😀 😀 😀

    1. Lol Dortmund is trying to convince Atletico to pay less, but Atletico are so p*ssed that they want to pay double 😀 This articles just get worse and worse.

  5. Usually Spanish teams would slap a very, very hefty and sometimes crazy number as the release fee (I think something like 1B for Gavi etc). So, Atleti needs to question themselves why are they only valuing Morata at 13M? Of course it was definitely Morata’s camp who was the one pushing it as an escape route – but Atleti agreed to it and they knew full well, 13M is peanuts for a top NT starter.

  6. So according to this “journalism”, Atleti are gonna pay DOUBLE what Dortmund are even asking for out of pettiness? I needed a good laugh this afternoon, thanks lol
