Moretto: Milan readying first offer as Atletico Madrid enquire about centre-back

By Isak Möller -

Strahinja Pavlovic is at the top of AC Milan’s wish list for the defence and according to a report, they are now preparing their first official offer. However, they could also end up faxing the competition of Atletico Madrid.

Gazzetta dello Sport reported this morning that Pavlovic has told RB Salzburg that he would like to be sold this summer, having reached an agreement in principle with Milan. As such, the latter are now set for negotiations with the Austrian side.

As reported by Matteo Moretto, Milan are ready to present their first official offer for the defender, worth €18m. Salzburg are asking for €25m, though, so more negotiations will be required to get the operation over the line.

In the meantime, Atletico Madrid have also enquired about the Serbian centre-back as they are struggling to reach an agreement with Feyenoord over David Hancko. They might be too late, though, especially given the player’s will to join the Rossoneri this summer.

Milan are also focused on a few other reinforcements, with Lazar Samardzic heavily linked, and another striker could also arrive following the signing of Alvaro Morata. In short, busy weeks ahead are expected.

    1. Ray it’s not so player can change his mind and if history tell you anything Milan have ways of losing out on so called targets.
Simone always has a dislike of Milan and loves to take from Milan history shows that. Hopefully if Milan management if serious about the squad to be should close on deals right away and stop bargain hunting for they will lose out on targets!

  1. The player’s will changes FAST, when the team they want to go to takes months to even extend an offer. Skilled teams are moving fast through interest, negotiations and offers. Something the Milan negotiators should do.

  2. We’ve been there before, and we’ve lost players in this way before. The thing is, unless the player is a Milanista at heart (and even with that), he certainly can certainly change his mind if a deal is stuck especially if the other club (in this case CA.Madrid) will also play in the UCL next season and is generally a top 4 club with a likelyhood of winning titles here and there and going a bit far in Europe.
So let’s stop taking for granted that a player already agreed to join us.

  3. The furlani/moncada/ibra trio acts in the most stupid manner – the 3 men are clowns, idiots and fools. They take weeks and months to conclude a deal and in the meantine other hawks keep circling above. Do they really need take so long to get a new player for milan? Shows they are weak, unsure of what they want, misers and not really interested in pushing milan forward.
