Berlusconi: “Milan have financial issues, Elliott could take over”

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan’s former president Silvio Berlusconi, who recently sold the club to a Chinese consortium led by Yonghong Li, said to TeleLombardia.it that Milan have major financial issues.

“I know that there are already financial issues, but Mr. Li’s silence worries me a lot,” said Berlusconi to TeleLombardia before continuing.

“Should the team continue with their poor performances, it’s possible that fund Elliott takes over the club in Spring. However, the real problem is that without Champions League, Milan will lose out on more than €100m less in incomes.

“Whoever would buy the club certainly wouldn’t have to pay much compared to its real value, but they’d have to heal it after some very heavy years. It’s not a nice prospect.”
