In recent years, one of the few certainties in the AC Milan lineup has been Alessio Romagnoli. The Rossoneri captain, who was brought in by Sinisa Mihajlovic, has had an impressive growth with the San Siro side.
However, with only eleven days left until the start of the season, his defensive partner is yet to be decided, although Giampolo seems to have a pretty good idea of who will play. There are three possible names: Duarte, Musacchio and Caldara.
The latter is still recovering from his ACL tear, while the other two are at the manager’s disposal. Musacchio certainly holds an advantage, having already played all of last season alongside the youngest AC Milan captain since Baresi.
Should Giampaolo decide to go with Duarte, then he would field one of the youngest centre-back duos in Serie A. However, the manager still has eleven days to make his decision, although Musacchio is in pole position.
