Calhanoglu: “I’m an AC Milan player and I’m happy here”

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has seemingly ruled out leaving the club in January.

Calhanoglu arrived at San Siro back in summer 2018 under the new leadership of Massimo Mirabelli and Marco Fassone, joining from Bayer Leverkusen in a €21.3m deal.

He has struggled to find form this season under coach Gennaro Gattuso, leading to suggestions a Bundesliga return could be on the cards.

Reports even emerged on Tuesday suggesting he had agreed terms with RB Leipzig, however the Turkey international seems to have poured cold water on the speculation.

“I’m in Milan, I’m a Milan player and I’m happy here,” he told TRT Spor, via Football Italia.

“The rest is out of the question right now. I’m preparing for our match at the weekend.”
