Capacity of San Siro reduced for Atalanta: the details

Despite the reluctantly of their own fans, Milan and Inter decided to give the permission to Atalanta for the usage of San Siro during Champions League games.

Now, a decision has now been taken on the capacity of the stadium, as reported by L’Eco di Bergamo. The North stand and the South stand will be closed, the place where Inter and Milan’s ultras groups watch the games.

Therefore, only the entire first ring (26,000 seats), the second orange and the red ring will be available. Finally, the third ring will also be closed. In other words, Papu Gomez and his teammates will be able to host about 40,000 spectators.

The decision was most likely taken to please the fanbases of Milan and Inter, who were against the idea of loaning Atalanta the stadium from the start.
