CM: AC Milan to miss out on €60m defender as Bayern Munich take action

By Isak Möller -

In recent seasons, Dayot Upamecano has been linked with a move to AC Milan, although the latter have had no success with their meetings. Now, the Rossoneri are likely to miss out on the centre-back.

According to Calciomercato.com, Zvone Boban tried to sign the 21-year-old last summer, meeting with his agents several times. However, the competition is becoming increasingly fierce, so much that Milan have virtually been kicked out of the race.

Having dominated the German market in recent years, Bayern Munich have decided to take action once again. The Bavarians are keen on paying Upamecano’s release clause, which will drop from €100m to €60m in the summer.

As the report continues, Man City and Man Utd are also in the background. Pep Guardiola appreciates the qualities of the defender, but now Bayern Munich are in pole position and could soon make the final move to close the deal.
