AC Milan are involved in the Scudetto race for the first time in 10 years, having continued the positive form we saw last season. This time, they have managed to hold on longer but there might be a factor still affecting them negatively.
Stefano Pioli received an interesting question during his press conference earlier today, asked whether playing before or after the Scudetto rivals makes a difference. While he stated that Milan focus on other things, he said it would be better if they played at the same time.
“I think it would be fair for everyone to play at the same time but playing sooner or later doesn’t make a difference. If you want to win the Scudetto, you have to have a winning mentality but playing at the same time would be the best thing,” he stated.
Calciomercato.com have taken a look at the situation, based on the question asked to Pioli, and have concluded the following: in the second half of the season, Inter have played 9 games before Milan, while the Napoli stat is more balanced.
Napoli have played 6 times after the Rossoneri, while the latter have played 4 times after the Partenopei. The data between Milan and Inter, therefore, has revealed a sort of imbalance. But as Pioli stated, this shouldn’t really matter anyway.
Playing after your rival match give pressure to AC Milan especially if rival win . I prefer we play before Napoli and inter but too bad our schedule are like that from FIGC
Milan has been pathetic in handling the pressure. Pretty much every time they have had the opportunity to gain distance to the competitors, they have f’ed it up big time.
