CM: Atletico could take important steps ‘in the next few hours’ for €40m Milan target

By Isak Möller -

Milan are eager to reinforce the squad ahead of next season as they will take part in the Champions League. Several players have already been linked with the Rossoneri, expected to be quite active this window.

One of the players on the Rossoneri’s wish list is Rodrigo De Paul, who scored 9 goals and assisted an additional 10 for Udinese this past season. However, as reported by Calciomercato.com, the Friuli side want at least €40m for the playmaker.

Atletico Madrid are in pole position to sign De Paul, per the report, as they have already made contact with the player and Udinese. The negotiations are proceeding fast and the Spanish side could take important steps already ‘in the next few hours’.

Milan, meanwhile, are unable to come close to the €40m requested and they also need to know the outcome of Hakan Calhanoglu’s renewal. In other words, they have other priorities for the time being and could miss out.
