CM: Date set for Milan’s Coppa Italia encounter with Juventus next week

By Isak Möller -

Italian football is ready to start again after the long Coronavirus break. Inter, Juventus, Milan and Napoli will kick things off with the Coppa Italia next week, settling the second legs of the semi-finals.

The initial schedule suggested that the first semi-final would take place on June 13, as reported by Calciomercato.com, but now the plans have changed. Thanks to the pressing of the clubs, it will take place on June 12 (Friday) instead due to the tight schedule.

The Government has accepted the request and the official statement is expected later today. Juventus-Milan will be played on June 12 and Napoli-Inter on June 13. The final will be played a few days later as a mid-week game.

For the Rossoneri, it will be a tough task at the Allianz Stadium as the first leg 1-1, after the Bianconeri scored a last-minute penalty. Furthermore, Theo Hernandez, Samu Castillejo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic will miss the game, which is a big blow.
