CM: Latest on Kessie ‘decision’, Calabria renewal plus Ziyech, Brahim Diaz and Tonali talks

By Oliver Fisher -

A number of important updates have arrived regarding AC Milan’s transfer market with the window set to open in a few days.

Daniele Longo gave his latest on various topics during an Instagram live (via MilanPosts), and began by discussing the replacement for Hakan Calhanoglu. He reports that Milan have to make a great investment for the attacking midfielder position and there have been talks over Hakim Ziyech of Chelsea, but it is a really difficult deal and it is ‘far away’ from a positive outcome.

Milan’s intention is to extend Brahim Diaz’s loan for another year meanwhile, with an option to buy set at €20m and the Rossoneri ready to finalise the deal. Sandro Tonali won’t be announced this week meanwhile, with Longo describing it as a ‘complicated deal’ with ‘no complete agreement’. The main problem is regarding counterparts, as Brescia already gave a 30% discount on the price.

Moving on to renewals, there was a meeting with Davide Calabria’s entourage with the latest offer €2m net per season and the demand €2.5m. Milan want a contract until 2025, while the player wants a deal until 2024, but the will is to continue together.

Franck Kessie’s renewal is on stand-by and there have been no contacts in the last few days. The Ivorian’s demand is about €5.5m net per season, while the offer is €3.5m, as Milan ‘must make a decision’ about the Ivorian given the size of the investment needed.
