CM: Milan identify five replacements for Donnarumma

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have been forced to examine potential replacements for goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma due to his complicated situation, a report claims.

The Rossoneri’s prized young shot stopper has a deal which runs until, and il Corriere dello Sport reported on Wednesday that Milan have no intention of letting that run into the final year.

However, his renewal is difficult due to the fact he is represented by Mino Raiola, whose demands are expected to be higher than what the club are willing to offer.

SportMediaset (via MilanNews) recently confirmed that Milan will sit down with Raiola soon, while il Corriere dello Sport on Wednesday stated that they could even offer a new deal on a lower salary.

According to Calciomercato.it, Milan have identified five possible options should Donnarumma look set to leave the club.

Number one is Alphonse Areola who is currently on loan at Real Madrid from PSG, a player who we revealed in June did not interest Milan in terms of a swap deal.

Cagliari’s Alessio Cragno and Torino’s Salvatore Sirigu are also considered as possible options – the report claims – but the latter is 32 years of age.

Finally, Calciomercato state that Milan could look internally for solutions, such as entrusting Pepe Reina for one year or even Alessandro Plizzari.
