AC Milan are at work to try and secure the long-term future of three key players after Alexis Saelemaekers renewed, it is claimed.
It was somewhat of a surprise when Milan announced the contract renewal of Alexis Saelemaekers until 2026, given that there had been no rumours he was close to doing so, and there has been talk that Theo Hernandez could well be looking to extend his stay at the club too.
According to the latest from Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, it is not just Saelemaekers that the Milan management have been in talks with over the extension of his contract as three other players are making progress on renewing too.
The journalist claims that ‘negotiations are well underway’ for the renewals of left-back Theo Hernandez, winger Rafael Leao and midfielder Ismael Bennacer, whose contracts are all currently set to expire in 2024 as they arrived in the summer 2019 window.
