CM: PSG intend to trigger €50m clause of Milan star but could make earlier attempt

By Isak Möller -

In recent months, there have been many rumours linking Ismael Bennacer with a move to Paris Saint-Germain. Just as they had seemed to calm down, though, new reports have emerged with regards to the Algerian’s future.

According to Calciomercato.com, the Milan star is on the French side’s wish list, as sporting director Leonardo is a big fan of his. In fact, he even made an inquiry in June but was told about the €50m release clause as a response.

The clause is only valid in 2021 and not this summer, which is why PSG have taken a step back in the race. However, they already have next summer in mind and triggering the release clause, which could be removed if Bennacer renews his contract.

Currently, the strategy of PSG is clear: they will make an attempt to sign Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga. However, the competition is fierce to say the least and should they fail to sign him, then Bennacer would return to fashion.

Meanwhile, Milan are calm and want to keep the Algerian, protagonist of what can only be described as a renewed and increasingly stronger midfield.
