CM: Rangnick the driving force as Milan show serious interest in Spurs, Dortmund target

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have taken a keen interest in Strasbourg defender Mohamed Simakan and are ready to make a move for his signature, a report claims.

It was reported by MilanNews over the weekend that Milan have set their sights on Simakan, a 19-year-old who plays for Strasbourg, with contacts held between Milan and the player’s entourage.

On Monday, RMC Sport reported that Milan made an attempt to sign Simakan in January and were unsuccessful, but the idea is to return to negotiating table with an offer of €15million.

The player’s agent cast an admiring glance in the Rossoneri’s direction earlier on Tuesday as he admitted that Paolo Maldini and Milan represent a welcome destination for his client.

According to the latest from Calciomercato.com, Milan have observed him throughout the season and have shown a keen interest, on a par with Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham and RB Leipzig.

Of course, the link then comes from Ralf Rangnick who is rumoured to be the next man in charge of Milan’s newest revolution, and it may be no coincidence that the club’s hierarchy have chosen Simakan as the ideal profile to form a pillar of the new era.
