CM: Sevilla made offer for AC Milan star; sale cannot be ruled out

By Oliver Fisher -

Suso was close to joining LaLiga side Sevilla on loan with an option to buy, according to a report.

There were doubts over whether the Spaniard could adapt to Marco Giampaolo’s 4-3-1-2 formation but he has impressed in preseason so far, including in Saturday’s win over Feronikeli in Kosovo.

Lyon, Roma and Fiorentina have all been credited with interest amid rumours he is considered sellable, but Marco Giampaolo has made it clear he wants to keep him.

It was claimed on Thursday though that a combination of the current €40million release clause and the player’s desire for a pay rise may force renewal talks to begin.

According to a report from Calciomercato.com though things could have been a lot different, as Suso was apparently close to joining Sevilla ‘a few days ago’.

Former Roma sporting director Monchi was interested in bringing the Milan star back to Spain, but only on a loan with option to buy, while Milan at that point wanted cash up front.

Despite this, the report claims that the former Liverpool man could still be sold for the right offer, which is contrary to reports claiming the Rossoneri have decided to keep him.
