Zlatan Ibrahimovic has certainly changed Milan’s mentality since he arrived back in January. However, in addition to the Swede, another player has become a real key for Stefano Pioli and his side’s recent success.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, this is Theo Hernandez. The French full-back has grown to the point of being essential for the Rossoneri, having played 12 of the 13 games so far this season (all comps).

For many, he’s already a top player, although he still has room to improve and potentially become the best in the world. Stats confirm, as the report continues, that when Hernandez is fit he has an impressive impact on Milan.

This season, as a pure full-back in a four-man backline, he created 12 goalscoring opportunities, attempted over 18 crosses, fired 7 shots and got 6 of them on target. Furthermore, he has also managed to score one goal.

As for kilometres covered, he’s one of the best in the squad and has suffered almost 30 fouls in 12 games. Numbers that confirm how just how important he is for Pioli and his system for the Rossoneri.
