CM: Three-way race between Milan, Dortmund and Fiorentina for €15m youngster

Samuele Ricci, the young midfielder born in 2001, is at the centre of many transfer rumours. The 18-year-old impressed in Serie B season with Empoli this past season, attracting the interest of several clubs.

According to Calciomercato.com, the Tuscan side are asking for €10-15m to part ways with their midfielder. They won’t make any discounts, aware of the current value and the potential Ricci has to become one of the best in his role.

Three teams, in particular, are interested in the player: Fiorentina, Borussia Dortmund and Milan. All of these are concrete options while other teams have dropped out of the race for various reasons.

Fiorentina are considered ahead in the race, having taken important steps early on. Furthermore, Ricci appreciates the destination as he knows he will be guaranteed a place in the starting eleven, thus allowing him to grow.

The most fascinating track, but also the most complex, leads to Dortmund. The manager of the German side is very fond of the midfielder and a few scouts have observed him closely in recent months.

Milan are the third team in the running for Ricci, having shown their interested already during the lockdown. However, there are some doubts about Ricci as Ismael Bennacer’s breakthrough most likely won’t give him much space.

Furthermore, Ricci doesn’t want to be loaned out and would like to find a team capable of immediately making him a protagonist. The economic aspect shouldn’t be underestimated either, as they want to lower Empoli’s demands.

Slightly behind the first two teams, in other words, but the Rossoneri will try until the end to get Ricci’s yes.
