By Oliver Fisher -

Torino are still interested in the idea of signing AC Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu, according to the latest reports.

The 25-year-old could have left Milan in the summer, as Calciomercato.com claimed director Paolo Maldini does not consider him unsellable.

However, the same outlet reported that Calhanoglu wanted to stay with the Rossoneri beyond the window, having rejected an offer from Fenerbahce.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews.it) were the first to report that Torino are interested in the Turkey international, while il Corriere dello Sport stated that talks between the two clubs were ‘intensifying more and more’.

Calciomercato.com recently claimed that Calhanoglu would like to stay at Milan until at least the end of the season, and will reject any offers that arrive in January.

According to the latest update from the same outlet, Torino remain interested in the idea of signing the former Hamburg and Leverkusen star.

They state that the Granata were forced to abandon a pursuit in the summer due to the high economic cost, but given his start to the season a deal may be more attainable in January.
