Linked away from Milan for some time now, Diego Laxalt was expected to move to one of two Premier League clubs. That will not be happening anymore.
According to CalcioMercato, the negotiations held between clubs were anything but simple and never got off the ground and even Milan were not wanting to let the player go.The deals were deemed to be too difficult for the English sides and thus, they have pulled out of the negotiations.
CalcioMercato also are reporting that the player’s agents were in Russia meeting with Zenit recently. Laxalt is also attracting interests from a yet to be named French club. The interest from Atalanta has also died off.
We do know the interest was concrete as Diego’s agent was quoted as saying: “He is very happy in Milan, but like all players, it’s natural he wants to play more.” This is a clear hint towards a move away and he even went on to confirm he would be meeting the Milan brass to discuss Laxalt’s future.
