CorSera: Milan rule out signing of new centre-forward as Colombo convinces

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have decided that they do not need to sign a new deputy to Zlatan Ibrahimovic before the window closes, a report claims.

According to il Corriere della Sera (via MilanLive), the Rossoneri club are not in the market for a striker who could act as a reserve for the Swede. In this first part of the season, Lorenzo Colombo showed that he can perform that role well. Yesterday against Spezia he found it difficult, but he is still considered an important weapon to have.

There is also a strong temptation to deploy Rafael Leao in the role of centre-forward. The Portuguese showed in the game against Spezia that he has the positioning of a No.9 at times, convincing everyone that in addition to being an attacking winger, he can also play up front.

We also shouldn’t forget Ante Rebic, who has played the role too. In the last hours of the market, as sporting director Frederic Massara revealed yesterday, Milan will focus only on the purchase of a central defender.
