CorSport: Milan’s attack against Inter – two places certain and two places up for grabs

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli is likely to be without Ante Rebic for Saturday’s derby against Inter, but solutions are available.

According to il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanLive), Pioli is studying the best strategies to replace Rebic. One solution is to use Samu Castillejo on the right and Alexis Saelemaekers on the left, which would give the most assurances with regards to defensive coverage.

The alternatives are to use either Brahim Diaz or Rafael Leao in that position on the left. The Spaniard is of course capable of causing more problems to what will be a makeshift Inter back line and he is used to playing on the left, while the Portuguese starlet played there against Spezia but was more effective when moved centrally.

The only player certain of a place in the three behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic seems to be Hakan Calhanoglu, who is considered absolutely immovable by Pioli and rightly so.
