CorVerona: Milan-linked playmaker could renew amid lack of concrete offers

By Isak Möller -

In their pursuit of a new playmaker, Milan have been linked with Hellas Verona star Mattia Zaccagni. The 26-year-old has been mentioned as an option for the Rossoneri in the past as well, but a move might not materialise now.

Given that Hakan Calhanoglu has left, it’s probably the best timing for Milan to sign Zaccagni. With that said, it seems their interest in the player has cooled a bit and a renewal could now be on the cards for him now.

According to Corriere di Verona, as cited by MilanNews, no concrete offers have arrived for the playmaker thus far, with the price tag set at €15m. Therefore, Zaccagni could sign a contract renewal instead with a substantial pay rise.

His current deal with the club will expire in 2022 and therefore, if he’s going to stay, he will need to sign a new one. The market is still long, though, and Milan might make a move for him.

  1. Just throw a low offer of 10m or less at them, it will work he’s perfect for that price. Problem is he’s not foreign so we won’t go for him.
