Di Marzio: Kessie set for Milan stay as Monaco close on Bakayoko

By Oliver Fisher -

Franck Kessie looks set to remain at AC Milan as Monaco are closing in on another target, according to a report.

Kessie’s future has been the subject of intense speculation in the past few days amid reports of interest from Ligue 1 side Monaco.

Monday’s edition of il Corriere della Sera – as cited by Calciomercato.com – reported that Kessie’s future at Milan is ‘still to be decided’.

French outlet RMC Sport (via GFFN) then followed that up a day later by claiming that Kessie remains at the top of Monaco’s wishlist.

Wednesday’s edition of La Repubblica (via Calciomertcato.com) even went as far as to say Milan and Monaco have agreed a fee for the Ivorian believed to be €25m plus bonuses.

However, the reliable Gianluca Di Marzio – as cited by MilanNews.it – claims that Monaco are instead closing in on a move for Tiemoue Bakayoko.

Bakayoko of course spent last season on loan at Milan, who had the option to sign him permanently for €35m but never chose to exercise it.

English outlet The Sun out of nowhere reopened the idea of Bakayoko returning to the Rossoneri on Wednesday, but now it seems he is set for Monaco and Kessie is set to stay.
