AS Monaco are prioritising a move for AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie but face one major obstacle, according to a report.
Just as it appeared that the Ivory Coast international was set to stay with the Rossoneri beyond the transfer window, a lot of speculation has emerged surrounding his future recently.
Reports emerged last Thursday from RMC Sport claiming that Milan are in talks with Monaco over a deal for Kessie.
Meanwhile, Monday’s edition of il Corriere della Sera – as cited by Calciomercato.com – provided an interesting update on the 22-year-old.
Their report claimed that Kessie’s future at Milan is ‘still to be decided’ as Monaco have not yet given up on the idea of signing him.
Now, French outlet RMC Sport (via GFFN) have added to that on Tuesday, by stating that Kessie remains at the top of the Ligue 1 club’s wishlist.
Milan would let Kessie leave for €25million, the report adds, but the major obstacle for Monaco at the moment is the player’s salary demands which are currently too high.
As a result, RMC Sport add that Monaco could turn to former Milan and current Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko as an alternative.
