Di Marzio: Milan have secured Lyon man as Donnarumma deputy – medical this week

By Isak Möller -

Ever since Asmir Begovic and Pepe Reina left the club, Milan have been looking for a new backup goalkeeper. Several names have been linked with them, but it seems they have settled for one that hasn’t been reported.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan have secured the services of Ciprian Tatarusanu, who played for Lyon this past season. The 34-year-old will arrive on a permanent basis and he will sign a three-year contract with the club.

He will arrive in the city of Milan tonight or Thursday morning at latest, then it will be time for the medical tests. Tatarusanu, who played for Fiorentina between 2014 and 2017, will thus make a return to Italy and Serie A.

He crossed paths with Stefano Pioli, but left the club when the latter arrived. He spent two seasons as a starter at Nantes and then joined Lyon on a free transfer last year, taking on the role as deputy of Anthony Lopes.
