As the January window opened today, the rumours have been piling up in Italian media, with Milan expected to make a few signings this month. The priorities, as has been widely reported, are the defence and the midfield.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio (via MilanEye), who spoke on Sky Italia this evening, Milan have presented a €15m-plus-bonuses offer for Mohamed Simakan. However, Strasbourg rejected the offer, keen on getting €5m more.
In addition to the centre-back, the Rossoneri are also following Toulouse midfielder Kouadio Kone. The 19-year-old regularly plays in the French second tier and Milan have offered €5-6m as they want him now, while Toulouse are holding out for around €10m.
Finally, there are no confirmations on the Rossoneri’s interest in Matteo Zaccagni, as Di Marzio concludes. The Hellas Verona attacking midfielder has impressed this season and the links aren’t exactly a surprise, though they’re not concrete for now.
