Di Marzio: Lille raise price tag of Milan target amid €30m+ offer from Newcastle

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are looking for a centre-back on the market and their priority seems to be Lille defender Sven Botman. The problem, however, is the high price tag of the defender which reportedly has increased.

Simon Kjaer’s injury forced Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara to act quickly, identifying the right profiles on the market. It’s also clear, however, that they were already prepared on that front given the potential exit of Alessio Romagnoli in the summer.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, who spoke live on Sky Italia last night (via MilanNews), Milan are indeed very keen on signing Sven Botman. It’s a difficult operation but they have no intention of giving up.

Newcastle are also in the race and they recently offered more than €30m for the Dutch defender. As a result, Lille have raised the price tag of Botman. It thus won’t be easy for Milan even though the relationship with the French club is excellent.

    1. They would probably rather have the cash sum they requested. Very few clubs would want those players instead of 10 million euros.
