Di Marzio: Milan have ‘almost given up’ on Botman as Lille rejected a €40m offer

AC Milan are in the market for a centre-back this month, due to Simon Kjaer’s injured, but it hasn’t been an easy pursuit this far. They have seemingly given up on their primary target, Sven Botman.

The Dutchman is considered the ideal profile for the Rossoneri, given his age and characteristics. However, he’s the ideal profile for many teams and that has become evident in the last few days, with Newcastle interested.

On Sky Italia last night, as cited by MilanNews, Gianluca Di Marzio explained that Milan have ‘almost given up’ on Botman. The reason is that Lille rejected a €40m offer from Newcastle yesterday and these are figures the Rossoneri cannot reach.

Instead, as per the reporter, Milan are hoping that Paris Saint-Germain will open up to a loan formula for Abdou Diallo. It remains to be seen which player Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will bring to Stefano Pioli in the end.

  1. If 40m was rejected its because player rejected Newcastle
We will see, but 40m for him is a stupid price so only Newcastle can pay it
