CM: Outcasts, loans and options – eight situations Milan must resolve

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s summer mercato will involve a lot of speculation about signings, but they must also resolve the situations of those players who are on the fringes of the project.

According to Calciomercato.com, Tiemoué Bakayoko is one of those players and he is being targeted by Valencia, while Samu Castillejo can also leave and left-back Fodé Ballo-Touré could bid farewell after just one season at the club.

Then there is the Junior Messias situation. It will take €5.4m to buy him permanently, a figure considered excessive by the management but there is room for negotiation with Crotone, especially given they have been relegated to Serie C.

There is a negotiation ongoing with the entourage of Rade Krunic who was fundamental in the final push for the Scudetto, playing a number of different roles, and the Bosnian is heading towards extending his contractual deadline from 2024 to 2026.

The future of Daniel Maldini and Matteo Gabbia is also to be resolved as both would like to play more but could be ‘forced’ to stay because of the UEFA squad list rules on homegrown players and academy products. Tommaso Pobega will return, stay and renew his contract.
