Sandro Tonali left AC Milan two years ago in favour of Premier League side Newcastle, which disappointed a lot of the Rossoneri. However, as confirmed by the midfielder’s entourage, he will eventually return to Italy.
As confirmed by Milan’s accounts for the 2023-24 season, Newcastle paid just under €60m for Tonali’s services and it certainly helped boost the Rossoneri’s transfer budget that summer. However, since his departure, the team has severely lacked a Milanista.
Many fans are thus hoping that Tonali will return to the club one day, as has been hinted many times. In an interview on the SportItalia podcast, as transcribed by Calciomercato.com, one of Tonali’s agents/his manager Marianna Mecacci confirmed that he will return to Italy eventually.
“He will return to Italy. When? It’s difficult to say. I started following him in Brescia, that operation that brought him to England was extraordinary, but I understand why it has caused discontent. Tonali, son of AC Milan, a faith that is there and will remain forever, is sold for a record sum.
“It was also an opportunity to try a new experience. As long as the opportunity of the Premier League is there, he will take advantage of it, but it’s impossible to think that he won’t return to Italian football,” she stated.
It’s difficult to imagine him playing for any other big Italian club than Milan, so one would have to assume that the return to Italy would include a move to the Rossoneri. For now, though, the player is happy at Newcastle and wants to stay there.
After he’s made enough money to gamble away he will return to the shores of our country and invest his hard earned money into our casino’s
90 millions and 5 players later and they’re yet to replace this warrior.
Inter, Juventus, and other top Serie A clubs all have an Italian core in their teams; why is ACM the only one that doesn’t? Cardinale, as part of his project to commodify ACM, has stripped ACM of its identity.
The Son of Milan shouldn’t have been dispatched by the moneychangers in the Casa Milan temple in the first place. Even though he’s not the Messiah, I look forward to his Second Coming, which hopefully will occur sooner rather than later.
We have to buy him back along with signing Ricci from Torino. And bring in an Italian coach and sporting director!
I totally agree. Also, bring Calafiori, who is at Arsenal, to ACM. The best Italian players should be playing for us – not abroad.
He and Ricci fits the bill, they are young and also Italians, then bring Arda guller from Real Madrid… etc!!
Please don’t come. Back Sandro.
At least not under this ownership and their fanbase. People who thought you were average and could be easily replaced.
Why destroy your budding career with this pipe of a team masquerading as Ac Milan 🤣😂
