Frattesi full of praise for Theo Hernandez and Leao amid Milan transfer links

By Oliver Fisher -

Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi has heaped praise upon AC Milan’s left-sided duo Theo Hernandez and Rafael Leao.

Frattesi spoke on a live stream with the Instagram page Cronache di Spogliatoio’ and as part of it he was asked about two Milan players, starting with left-back Theo Hernandez who he has now faced multiple times.

“How thrilled I am to face Theo Hernandez. I can’t wait to face him. I say to myself: ‘F**k, let’s start from here and see who arrives first. Who keeps the pace more’,” he said (via MilanNews).

“Some good, tough fights have come out. He has pace and physique. He is overwhelming from all points of view. I have to be stronger than him. When he starts, in the lead, I must be there. It is the most beautiful duel. If I have to choose a partner for an hour of training, I choose him.”

Frattesi was also asked what it is like to come up against Leao, given that he and Theo have such an understanding on the left flank and the Portuguese winger possesses as much if not more pace than the Frenchman.

“In the first few metres, he’s relentless. When he starts from a standing start, he seems to be running from thirty metres. In Serie A he does what Mbappè does, only that Mbappè does it to the nth degree,” he said.

The comments are interesting given that a recent report from TMW claimed that Milan are one of many European clubs that are contemplating a move for Frattesi in the near future, along with Brighton in the Premier League and Roma in Serie A, while the 23-year-old himself hinted that next summer is time for the next step in his career.
