AC Milan have been forced to enter the market for an emergency midfielder, according to reports from France
Lucas Biglia’s re-occuring muscle issue means he is out for the next four weeks, while Milan are cautiously imagining that very soon both Jose Sosa and Jose Mauri will leave the Rossoneri.
Based on our rumours coming from France (reported by Alfredo Pedulla), Milan have turned to three French Premier League midfielders for possible reinforcements.
First in the list is Yohane Cabaye of Crystal Palace, who due to his expiring contract could be available for €12-13million plus bonuses.
Montella is also fond of Leicester City man Nampalys Mendy and there have been probes in recent weeks. His contract expires in 2020, and Mendy is a name that could go back to fashion.
Etienne Capoue of Watford is also being considered – the 29-year-old has a contract expiring in 2019 and was a key part of the squad that staved off relegation last season.
Jack Wilshere is an option that should not be excluded; his contract with Arsenal expires in 2018 and he is being courted to a number of clubs.
Renato Sanches is a different and much more expensive situation, aside from the fact that the Bayern Munich man has different characteristics. Milan’s interest always exists, but at this moment in the midst of the priority is a midfielder for the short term.
