GdS: Atalanta keen on redeeming Milan loanee next summer – the figures

By Isak Möller -

As a result of several serious injuries, Mattia Caldara failed to live up to the expectations at AC Milan and was shipped back to Atalanta on loan. Having managed to stay fit, he is now on the right path.

According to today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via Calciomercato.com), in fact, the defender can once again aim for an even tougher task: getting called up for the Euros in 2021. Had it been this summer, he certainly would have missed out.

The extra year could thus serve him well as all he needs is consistent playing time, as well as solid performances. Roberto Mancini, the manager of Italy, has focused a lot on young players and will surely keep an eye on the former Juventus man.

Atalanta are very happy with his return and are keen on redeeming him next summer. When Milan agreed to the 18-month loan, as the newspaper continues, a €15m buy-out clause was added in the deal and this will be the price tag.
