Tommaso Pobega’s season-long loan at Bologna will come to an end in the summer and while there is an option to buy, the future remains uncertain for the AC Milan loanee.
The midfielder joined Bologna last summer on an initial loan deal, with an option to buy set at €12m. For Milan, we would be talking about a full capital gain that certainly would be useful for the summer budget, but whether the clause will be triggered is currently uncertain.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport this morning (see photo below), Bologna are yet to make a decision on Pobega as they want to assess his performances in the coming months. It’s possible that a discount could be granted by Milan to push through the transfer, seeing as the midfielder has done well but perhaps not enough for €12m.
Another option, and this is hypothetical as Gazzetta stands, would be to use Pobega as a counterpart if Milan were to express interest in one of the Bologna stars (such as Riccardo Orsolini, John Lucumi and Benjamin Dominguez).
On a semi-related note, Davide Calabria has also impressed with Bologna and since he technically joined them on a six-month loan, he’s expected to sign a contract with the Rossoblu in the summer.

Lucumi is in his final year… just saying…
him and Coppola would free up Thiaw and Tomori for Tonali swap…
This plan makes me salivate…
I think we would need some cash for the Tonali swap but not too much. I was thinking of Tah for the defense on a free transfer but Lucumi and a young Italian CB like Coppola/Bertola/Leoni would be great if it meant getting Tonali back
Fabbian or Ferguson or Dominguez swap
Ferguson is another CAM/box-to-box player… we need defensive players atm
This plan su*ks..just bring them back. Problem is over. They fix RB and DM and all Italian Home Grown and Academy.
There are A LOT of good players at Bologna still.. Make it happen!!!
