GdS: ‘What remains of the Diavolo?’ – four Milan stars attracting interest

The AC Milan management will try to plan how the squad of the future looks between now and the end of the season, but arguably the three big stars in the team are attracting some interest.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (as seen below) published a report this morning talking about the future of Rafael Leao, Mike Maignan and Theo Hernandez, three players among the best in their position and thus the object of desire for elite European sides.

Milan continue to rely on Leao’s creativity, but they expect more from him in terms of scoring given that he is without a league goal since September, while Christian Pulisic has doubled his tally on the other wing.

If the difficulties of his current moment might pass sooner or later, his appeal in the eyes of the big clubs will never wane, for example PSG who recently tested the waters to prepare for the eventuality of Kylian Mbappe leaving.

The winger is not for sale, but he has a €170m release clause and if anyone seriously thought about paying it then Milan can’t do much.

After all, last summer’s mercato taught us that with monstrous offers – like the Sandro Tonali one – things can change for everyone.

The next summer window will make no exceptions: the project of this Milan also revolves around player trading and in the notebooks of Europe’s greats there are at least a couple of other Rossoneri stars.

Bayern and PSG like Maignan, while PSG are also admirers of Theo. Meanwhile, Fikayo Tomori has admirers all over Europe, a bit like Pierre Kalulu after the Scudetto season.

The Rossoneri management have a duty to evaluate all offers, but they will have to be huge to even consider selling.
