GdS: Four new signings could part ways with Milan in the summer

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are planning for the future and since quite a few of the signings made ahead of this season have failed to impress, they could leave already in the summer. Yacine Adli is one of them, a report claims.

Milan made a total of five signings last summer and in hindsight, the management failed to make the necessary reinforcements. The only player that has impressed is Malick Thiaw, who has convinced Stefano Pioli even if he needs more time.

As reported by Gazzetta Dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it), Yacine Adli returned from his loan at Bordeaux in the summer and has only played 127 minutes since. He could be sold in the summer, therefore, or perhaps be sent out on loan.

The loanees Aster Vranckx and Sergino Dest are not expected to be redeemed by Milan and will thus leave the club in the summer, as things stand. Divock Origi arrived on a free transfer but he has struggled a lot, and the Rossoneri could consider a sale if an offer were to arrive.

Finally, Charles De Ketelaere has been a flop thus far but given that they paid around €35m, Milan are expected to give him more time.

  1. Who would be stupid enough to buy Origi, given his wages, total lack of ability and constant injury problems? (asides from Milan)

    1. To EPL sides they can foot that wage bill even the mid table teams..here’s to hoping one of them take the bait 🤞

      1. Yup a mid level Prem team who want to add a bit of squad depth, or lower level Prem team hoping he can replicate his time in Liverpool.

        1. Problem is they can do a lot better than Origi. He played very little for Liverpool.

I’d say the only hope is a team in middle east, china or usa.
He may well just hang around and pick up his wages like he has before

  2. CDK was not understood by Pioli. Therefore, CDK should be given on other chance by the future manager, hopefully very SOON

  3. They are playing moneyball abd losing badly at that. He was a backup at a club that was at a level we were trying to get to. Why would we expect someone that is a back up striker in a team that had three of the best forwards in their league to be able to replicate results here? Terrible scouting decision. He played over 8 full league games in terms of minutes, in 4 seasons, 2 of which were at Lille, the rest of his career was less than that. He was behind Mane, Salah, Firmino and Chamberlain. Our department upfront is a far cry from theirs. The writing was on the wall, it would take a miracle for him to perform given the team surrounding him when compared to Liverpool’s strike force. He is a good utility player with excellent, world class striking partners that opponents prepare for. Us, Giroud, Ibra, Leo, Rebic, do not pose the same level or type of threat. Hence he would not be as relevant as an ace in the sleeve for us. It is quite predictable and obvious. We had no reason to believe his performances would scale upwards when joining our team.

To think we let Kessie go, and replaced the additional funds on our wage bill required to keep Kessie to sign him. While our midfield is still flimsy. I would count on Kessie offense from the middle of the park and defensive prowess to compensate for the lack of it up front with a youngster like Lazetic filling in for the spot Origi occupies now. Kessie brought us proof of concept, he already gave us a sure thing. With Kessie doing a lot of heavy lifting in the middle of the park and the high press, you can say that would have had less of a strain on our forwards and prevented certain injuries there as well. Stupid management decision, now we are stuck with a player no one wants at the price we paid. It would be difficult to offload him.

    1. Whatever Maldini drank during his last holidays is not good for human consumption.

The materials he gave to Pioli are substandard

  4. We can sell origi high if he score on champion league and AC Milan go to semifinal minimum. Dont activate buy option for Dest & Aster too.
